The Cross limestone occurrence is located on an unnamed tributary of the Tahsish River, approximately 1.5 kilometres east-southeast of Cross Lake.

The area is underlain entirely by limestones of the Triassic Quatsino Formation.

In 1993, the Cross property was acquired by staking by Panorama Natural Stone Limited as a possible source of marble for dimension stone. A program of mapping and sampling was completed the same year. In 1994, a five-hole diamond drill program, totalling 111 metres, was completed along with continued mapping and sampling. Locally, a dark brown marble, occurring over an area of 200 by 100 metres and to a depth of 22 metres, has been tested by drilling (Assessnent Report 23478).
